He has been with the band since its inception in 1997 and was previously a member of La:Sadie's and Ka･za･ri.In 2015 he announced that he will be the vocalist and guitarist for a side band, DECAYS, which released an album in 2017. Die is the second most credited composer within Dir en grey (after fellow guitarist Kaoru), at least up to Vulgar, at which individual credits for the music were dropped.Die is endorsed by ESP Guitars in Japan who provides him with most of his guitars, picks, and straps. He has two lines of signature-series guitar from the ESP Custom Shop guitars called the DDT and D-DR models. Both models are based on the classic Telecaster body, the original DDT model being a copy of it and the newer D-DR model appearing to be a combination of a telecaster and an ESP F-body.Both of Die's signature guitars have replica models available in Japan through the ESP and Edwards product lines. Released on an up and coming independent Chicago label, Creator's Way Records, the track became a local hit and sparked the group's signing by Houston's Rap-A-Lot Records. Given a wide release in the summer of 1996, the single hit number 22, increasing the buzz for a full-length album from the group.Like the group's previous album, Headz or Tailz was a success, peaking at #13 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, producing the successful single, "Still Po Pimpin", which featured Twista and Johnny P, and peaked at #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #16 on the Hot Rap Singles.
